All risks and problems during EMS training
Can everyone train EMS? What are the risk, doubts and problems at the EMS-training?
It is especially important to us that we provide information with this site. That means, we not only want to explain how to train EMS, but also with whom and when.
EMS does not lead to a physiological stimulation of the nervous system, but to a stimulation, which occurs through external electric impulses. The human body reacts differently to electric current - sometimes well, sometimes not so well. It is important to know that weak electric signals, which the EMS-machines leads through the electrodes to the body, body´s own signals can be disturbed. This might potentially be a disruptive factor for the body.
In order to avoid problems, it is crucial to previously speak to a doctor about the application of EMS as a sport. Dependent upon physical eligibility, the doctor can approve of decline. There are acknowledged groups, whom we do not advise to conduct a EMS-training.
EMS Trainign high-risk groups
Patients with heart diseases or donor heart
Patients with cardiac pacemakers
Patients with thrombosis
Pregnant women
...we also do not advise patients with epilepsy or other serious diseases to undertake EMS-training.
EMS includes potential risks and injuries
It is important to keep in mind that EMS is a personal training. If you are offered EMS without personal assistance, to test it on your own, keep your hands off it! EMS remains a whole-body training, which demands a great deal of effort. There are a lot of negative examples, which show that exhaustion and smaller injuries may be part of the training. It is beyond question, who is to blame! Before you decide to begin with EMS-training, you should seek medical advice. Tolerance of electric shocks, rashes, risk group yes or no – all of those questions could be discussed with a physician, before you visit an EMS studio.
The EMS Training is not a FUN sport
It is important to deal with this topic – some information can not hurt! EMS requires some preparation, before you decide to begin with training. There is no plug and go! Keep the advice of the studio and your trainer in mind. You should drink a good amount, preferably two hours before the training, and eat sufficiently! Wo do not want you to faint, due to incomprehension of the preparation principles. Summarized, this means: before EMS-training, it is essential to eat and drink enough.
